Clarendon Foundation is a high tech
nonprofit organization that is supporting the deployment
of wireless broadband Internet access in 22 markets across the USA.

Wireless Operator's Activation of Free Service

Receive Sites will be notified by a representative of Clarendon Foundation, when the mobile WiMAX network has been constructed and is operational. At that time, the institution will be informed about the options for equipment and service. Arrangements will be made to deliver the free equipment. An administrator, who is responsible for curriculum development, will be asked to sign a Letter of Intended Use to receive the free broadband services.

Currently, Clarendon is primarily working with two wireless operators, Clearwire Corporation of Kirkland, Washington, and Xanadoo LLC of Bala Cynwyd, Pensylvania. The websites of each company contain detailed service activation instructions and photographs of equipment. At start up, the Receive Site will be told which operator will be providing the free service.

This website describes the process that a Receive Site will use to connect the wireless broadband modems to its computers or network interfaces, and how to activate service. Technical assistance is available if any problems are encountered.
